With a strong foundation of Speech-Language Pathologists, Communicative Disorders Assistants, clinic coordinators, and support specialists, we work together to offer personalized care in a welcoming, rural setting. Whether you’re seeking support for speech, language, literacy, feeding, or cognitive communication, we’re here to help—with heart.
We also proudly share our space with trusted professionals in Occupational Therapy and Psychology, creating a supportive hub for care across disciplines.
Laura Downey,

Laura is a licensed SLP and a proud mother of three daughters. She earned her Master’s from SUNY Buffalo and has spent over a decade providing care in schools and homes. Her focus is on family-centred support, with a growing interest in feeding development and picky eating. Opening Speech Hens was a dream rooted in rural community care, education, and unique programming.
Special Interests: Feeding development, picky eaters, speech sound and language disorders.
Training Highlights: SMARTER Intervention, SOS Feeding, Feed the Peds®, Motor Speech 101.
Marianne Ward,

Marianne brings warmth and experience to her role, having worked with children and adults across settings. With a Master’s from SUNY Buffalo, she’s passionate about empowering individuals with speech, literacy, and AAC needs. Founding Speech Hens is the realization of a long-held dream.
Special Interests: Language/literacy development, AAC, speech sound development.

Nicole Kimmerly,

Nicole is the welcoming heart of our clinic, bringing a strong background in healthcare administration and a genuine passion for supporting families. A proud mom to a little boy, she lives in Norfolk and grew up in Grey Bruce County, giving her deep roots in the community. With her experience in healthcare clinic operations, Nicole helps ensure everything runs smoothly so our clients and clinicians can focus on what matters most—care, connection, and progress.
Kayleigh Godschalx,

Kayleigh is a dedicated CDA with a special passion for working with pre-school children and supporting children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. She is deeply committed to nurturing early communication, language development, and meaningful connection across all communication needs. With a warm, patient, and play-based approach, Kayleigh creates a safe, supportive environment where children and families feel empowered, understood, and celebrated every step of the way.
Special Interests: AAC for ASD, preschool speech, literacy prep.

Amanda Bradstreet,

Amanda is a passionate CDA and mom of twin boys, with a strong interest in structured literacy intervention and supporting children with speech sound disorders across all ages. She is dedicated to building strong foundational skills in reading, language, and speech through evidence-based, individualized approaches. With a calm, encouraging presence and a child-centered mindset, Amanda helps children grow in confidence, communication, and independence- creating meaningful progress that lasts

Emily earned her B.A.Sc. in Adult Development from Guelph, then completed training in Brain Disorders and CDA work. She has experience across age groups and is passionate about helping clients “who know more than they can say.”
Special Interests: Aphasia, post-stroke care, child language/literacy.

With 35+ years in the field, Lori is a pillar in the SLP community. She previously led Haldimand Norfolk’s Preschool Speech and Language Program and is an advocate for children with Autism and their families.

Kelsi earned her Master’s from Western and brings a multilingual, multicultural lens to her practice. She supports both pediatric and adult clients in speech, fluency, and swallowing.
Special Interests: Bilingual therapy (French), stroke rehab, neurogenic disorders.
